'Great Barrier Reef Marine Park: current challenges, the Reef 2050 Plan and Marine Park Permits' - Dr. Mel Cowlishaw - Assistant Director, Strategic Advice for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority.
Abstract:
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) is Australia's lead managers of the Great Barrier Reef. For more than 40 years, the GBRMPA has managed the Marine Park to provide for the long-term protection and conservation of the Reef’s environment, biodiversity and heritage values. Mel will present on the values and attributes of this World Heritage property and the range of regulatory tools, programs and strategies used by GBRMPA to address current pressures and threats.
This is a great opportunity for whoever works in the GBR to learn about the work of the GBR Marine Park Authority, the current situation and to ask questions about permits or other matters.
Do you have any specfic questions or like a meeting with Mel afterwards?
