Mental Health Week aims to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the community. As an organisation The University of Queensland is committed to looking to create a mentally healthy workplace and seeking out ways to educate our staff and students to understand, acknowledge and reach out to those who may be doing it tough whether that be in the workplace, at home or in the wider community.

UQ's Counselling team are putting on a range of initiatives on different days from 10:30am until 2pm each day to raise awareness Mental Health Week as follows:

Monday 9th October - Feed your Brian & Body
We will be distributing free fruit at the Grassy Knoll's to promote healthy eating!

Tuesday 10 October - Build Connection
Yoga is a mind-body practice that helps reduce stress and stay calm! Come along to the Natural Amphitheater for a 20 minute guided session at 11am, 11:30am, 1pm, or 1:30pm!

Wednesday 11th October - Get Moving!
Exercise has many benefits, not only for your physical health but also your mental health too! So what better way to get the sweat pumping then playing some bubble soccer down at the Synthetic Fields from 11pm - 1pm

Thursday 12th October - Sleep & Relax
Sleep is an essential part of healthy mind as it allows our bodies to repair themselves! Come chill out and relax with us at the Grassy Knoll's by creating your own DIY stress balls!

Friday - Fun & Games
Grab a friend for a lazy Friday afternoon on the Forgan Smith Lawn playing Giant Jenga & Connect Four!
