Full Description:: John Borghetti, the Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Australia, is passionate about the aviation business, having been employed in the industry for over three and a half decades.

After resigning from his position as Executive General Manager at Qantas in 2008 and a brief hiatus from the aviation industry, he was head hunted to replace Virgin Blue chief and co-founder Brett Godfrey and became CEO of Virgin Blue in May 2010.

In his 12 months in office, John Borghetti has moved to challenge Qantas' hold on the corporate travel market, changed the airline's name to Virgin Australia and struck international alliances with a number of well known airlines such as Etihad, Air New Zealand, Delta and Singapore Airlines.

His vision is to have Virgin Australia become the Australian airline of choice within three years and to create an even more competitive environment for air travellers, both domestic and international.
