Event Description

Full Description:
UQ Centre for Clinical Research invites you to attend a one-day series of presentaions from clinical health science leaders.

Celebrate the historical achievements in medicine and health in Queensland and review cutting edge advances at UQ in biomedical research with lectures from internationally renowned UQ Professors John Kerr and Ian Frazer, as well as a range of leading UQ clinical academics.

The potential for quality 21st century healthcare in Australia will be explored by drawing on the international Academic Health Science Centre movement.

Global insight will come from Professor Steve Smith who spearheaded the creation of the UK's first Academic Health Science Centre in 2007, Professor Ranga Krishnan who was instrumental in establishing Duke's Academic Health Science System and now Duke-NUS Singapore, and Monash Vice-Chancellor Ed Byrne who oversaw the creation of UCL partners in London.

An event for all those interested in medical research and the future of health education and research in Australia.
