Getting There: transport to the university

St Lucia
The St Lucia Campus is well-served by public transport. Travel options to and from campus include bus, ferry and connecting train services.
We advise graduands and guests to consider taking public transport to the ceremony, because car parking spaces on campus, particularly underneath the graduation venue (UQ Centre), are extremely limited. Parking is also not permitted in, or adjacent to, areas marked by yellow lines – any infringement may incur a penalty.

Shuttle buses operate between the UQ Centre and Sir William Macgregor Drive (outside the Athletics Stadium), on a 10-to-15 minute schedule between 9.15am and 9.00pm.
A passenger set-down/pick-up zone is located on Union Road immediately outside the UQ Centre. Graduands or guests with disabilities can be set down directly outside the UQ Centre. Drivers should approach the blockade at the base of Union Road and notify the parking officer they require access for a guest with a disability.
Free parking is available in the Shelton Hall carpark, which is accessible from the campus' Inner Ring Road. Parking is not permitted in, or adjacent to, areas marked by yellow lines - any infringement may incur a penalty.
Parking areas are marked on the map at
Guests with a disability can be set down and picked up directly outside the Gymnasium entrance on Inner Ring Road. Drivers accompanying a guest with a disability will be permitted entry through the blockade on Galletly Road.

Please note, ceremony hall doors are scheduled to open one hour before each ceremony. We advise guests requiring special assistance with seating inside the hall to arrive at least 30 minutes before doors open, so that they may be seated before other guests enter.
