Event Description

Full Description:
In the lead up to the 2021 Bridge to Brisbane, the Queensland Brain Institute is inviting their fundraising heroes, their supporters, and members of the community to visit and learn about research into how exercise and a healthy diet impact the brain.

During the information evening, Dr Tara Walker will discuss how exercise can increase the production of new brain cells and consequently limit cognitive decline during ageing and neurodegenerative diseases. Trent Payne from the School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences will speak on how to both maximise your exercise performance and recovery to also fuel your brain with optimal nutrition.
Marathon favourite and intraining athlete, Clay Dawson, will also share his running tips leading into race day. The talks will be followed by light refreshments.

Date: Tuesday 14 September
Time: 5.00–7.00pm
Venue: Queensland Brain Institute (79), Upland Road, UQ St Lucia
Parking: Limited paid parking is available at UQ St Lucia using the Cellopark App. UQ is also accessible via public transport.
RSVP: Tuesday 7 September
QBI holds the health of its community as its highest priority and the event will only proceed if the current Covid restrictions allow for the event to proceed. If an issue occurs the event may be transferred online.
