Two University of Queensland researchers have been awarded almost $1 million through the Australian Research Council's (ARC) Early Career Industry Fellowships to advance the translation and commercialisation of their research with industry partners.

Dr Monique Tourell will work with Siemens Healthineers and Skope Magnetic Resonance Technologies AG to expand the capability of Ultra High Frequency imaging used by MRI specialists to fields including neuroscience and psychology, which will improve understanding of brain development, disease progression and presentation.

Dr Xin Fu Tan will partner with Masters & Young PTY LTD and Nihon Superior Co. LTD to develop low-melting-point solders for electronics manufacturing which will lower energy consumption and enable the manufacture of temperature-sensitive components.

ARC awarded more than $22 million to support 50 new early career research projects. The full list of successful projects is available on the ARC website.
