Echidnas, baby chicks and a life-size inflatable Southern Right Whale are just some of the attractions that will be on show at The University of Queensland Gatton Open Day on August 21, 2011.

Director of the Gatton Campus Janelle Zahmel is encouraging members of the community to come along to Open Day to enjoy the activities available and discover what the Gatton Campus has to offer.

“Tours of our new pool and gym complex, residences and world-class veterinary science facilities will be running all day,” Ms Zahmel said.

“Students, lecturers and industry representatives will be available to discuss all of the exciting and diverse careers in the fields of agriculture, agribusiness, animals, veterinary science and food,” she said.

“River 94.9 will also be broadcasting live and there will be the opportunity to win an iPad on the day.”

There will also be music and an array of dining options including international and traditional Australian cuisines within the Food Court.

UQ Gatton Open Day will run from 9.30am – 3pm. Free parking is available on campus all day.
