Nominations are being invited for The University of Queensland’s 2010 Awards for Teaching Excellence, Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning and Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.

UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND AWARDS FOR TEACHING EXCELLENCE

These awards were established in 1988 to recognise, encourage and reward sustained excellence in teaching at the University.

Academic staff with teaching or teaching/research appointments who have a minimum of 3 years academic teaching-related employment within the University of Queensland are eligible for nomination.

Candidates must be nominated by at least five members of the University’s academic staff or current or former students (those who have been taught by the nominee within the last five years). Of the five people who nominate, at least one must be an academic staff member and one a current or former student. Self-nominations will not be accepted.

Nominations, completed on the appropriate form, should be submitted by Friday 23 April 2010 to the Associate Dean (Academic) of the nominee’s faculty.

UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND AWARDS FOR PROGRAMS THAT ENHANCE LEARNING

These awards were established in 2001 by the University’s Academic Board. They recognise learning and teaching support programs and services that make an outstanding contribution to the quality of student learning and the student experience of higher education.

Self-nominations are being invited for these awards, which are open to all programs and services that enhance student learning at The University of Queensland and have been sustained for a period of at least 3 years.

Applicants should submit their completed nomination form with appropriate endorsement and a 2 page expression of interest addressing the selection criteria, by Friday 23 April 2010 to Jenny Bjarnesen, Room 629, Level 6, J D Story Building.

UNIVERSITY OF QUEENSLAND CITATIONS FOR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO STUDENT LEARNING

These awards were established in 2005 to recognise and reward individuals or teams who make a significant contribution to student learning in a specific area of responsibility over a sustained period, and who are widely acknowledged for their achievements within a faculty or the wider University community and who have received strong endorsement within their area.

Nomination is open to academic staff, general staff, sessional staff and institutional associates in eligible institutions. Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by others.

Applicants should submit their completed nomination form with appropriate endorsement and a 1 page expression of interest by Friday 23 April 2010 to Jenny Bjarnesen, Room 629, Level 6, J D Story Building.
