A group of UQ undergraduates have teamed up with the fundraising event at the Sit Down Comedy Club on October 30.

In addition, the students are actively promoting the organisation by attending Inspire workshops to raise awareness of youth suicide in local schools.

“Young people are subject to a great deal of emotional trauma, and need an outlet to deal with their issues in order to lead a happy life,” project team leader Ron Belle Isle said.

“Many young people are unaware of their illnesses and don’t know where they can find help.”

The upcoming event will be held at the Sit Down Comedy Club in Paddington featuring comedians Hannah Gadsby and Michael Chamberlain. Tickets cost $27.50, with proceeds donated to the Inspire Foundation.

“We would like to create an enjoyable evening with a fun and relaxed atmosphere for young people and members of the Brisbane community to participate in,” Mr Belle Isle said.
