Two current senior UQ staff members and a significant number of UQ graduates are among the 2008 list of Australia’s 100 most influential engineers published by Engineers Australia media.

UQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Greenfield has again been included in the list, along with another current UQ staff member, Professor Anton Middelberg, the Director of the Centre for Biomolecular Engineering at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology.

UQ graduates who are represented in the list (alphabetically) as currently known include:

• Andrew Buckley, Managing Director of the Cardno group, Brisbane;
• Kathryn Fagg, President, BlueScope Steel Asia, Chair of Tata BlueScope Steel, Singapore;
• Richard Goodmanson, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of DuPont, Wilmington, Delaware US;
• Julie Hammer, National President, Engineers Australia;
• Gordon Jardine, CEO of Powerlink Queensland;
• Andrew Liveris, President, CEO and Chairman, Dow Chemical Company, Michigan, US;
• Campbell Newman, Lord Mayor, Brisbane;
• Dennis Sheehan, National President of the Association of Consulting Engineers, Australia, Brisbane;
• Peter Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Engineers Australia, Canberra;
• Ross Taylor, Global Chief Operating Officer of Lend Lease, Sydney;
• Philip Venton, Principal of Venton & Associates, Bundanoon, NSW;
• Bill Wild, Chief Operating Officer, Leighton Holdings, Sydney; and
