The University of Queensland’s internationally recognised UQ Business School has introduced a new consulting service to help industry leaders tap into its considerable expertise and quality research.

UQ Business School Consulting’s recent launch at the Australian Business Development Expo in Brisbane attracted business owners and managers keen to access the expertise of leading academics developing innovative business models for the future.

Head of School, Professor Tim Brailsford, said UQ Business School Consulting consolidated existing work by the School’s academics consulting to top-tier national and international firms such as BHP, Coca-Cola and the Asia Development Bank.

“Providing consultancy services is one way UQ Business School can extend the reach of its teaching and research expertise and help more Australians grow their business,” Professor Brailsford said.

Supported by the University’s main commercialisation company, UniQuest Pty Ltd, UQ Business School Consulting staff combine their extensive knowledge built up over several decades in various fields to provide a one-stop-shop for established and emerging enterprises.

Corporate governance issues, change management, internationalisation, enhanced service delivery, intellectual property management, and maintaining a competitive edge through innovation are the most common challenges for UQ Business School Consulting’s rapidly expanding portfolio of clients.

“With one phone call, clients can get quicker access to expertise for whatever their various needs might be, and, with the University’s reputation for excellence, clients know they are getting the most-up-to-date and sound advice,” Professor Brailsford said.

Other features and options of the new service include short-term consulting; research; access to experienced project teams; educational/training sessions; research-based and best-practice advice; and professionally-managed contracts.
