School groups and members of the public are invited to visit UQ Ipswich late this month and early next month to see a free display of entries by Queensland students in the 2000 Queensland Science Contest.
Over 400 entries will be judged on Saturday October 28 and will be displayed at the campus until awards are presented on Saturday November 4.
Students will compete for approximately 100 prizes with a total value of several thousand dollars.
Schools and the general public are invited to visit the free display of entries from Sunday October 29 to Friday November 3.
This annual event is organised by the Science Teachers Association of Queensland and is open to all Queensland students from pre-school to year 12. It is judged across five age divisions.
Students may enter their projects in one of four categories: Experimental Research, Models and Inventions, Classified Collections or Information and Communication Technology.
The Information and Communication Technology category introduced last year includes the development of Web sites and PowerPoint presentations to communicate scientific concepts.
