More than 3000 people are expected to attend an Open Day at The University of Queensland's / Gatton campus on Sunday, August 27 from 9am to 3pm.
Open Day co-ordinator Anthony Smith said staff members were expecting an influx of visitors seeking information about the range of courses at certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the campus.
"Staff and students involved in teaching and research specialisations at UQ Gatton will be happy to answer questions and guide visitors around the campus," Mr Smith said.
Some exciting programs would be offered in 2001. These included Agribusiness, Agriculture and Horticulture, Animal Studies, Environmental Management and Food Science and Technology.
Open Day visitors will be able to sample food including free ice-cream produced by food science and technology students during a dairy production plant tour.
Lunch will be available from a food court serving delicacies including multi-cultural and Australian foods, soft drinks, tea and coffee.
Visitors will also enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the day. There will also be a fly over by vintage war planes, a skydiving display and horse drawn rides.
"The animal nursery is also a popular part of open day with families," Mr Smith said.
Free parking is available at UQ Gatton's attractive 1068 hectare grounds. The University's Gatton campus is one hour's drive from Brisbane and 30 minutes from Toowoomba on the Warrego Highway.
