Dr Gordon Wyeth from the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department, retained the world championship title at the 13th running of the International Micromouse Championship in Los Angeles on February 16.
"Cuqee III won by a wide margin," Dr Wyeth said after beating top class robot mouse designers from USA, U.K., Japan and Singapore.
"It was a very very difficult maze and some challengers didn't finish the course."
To win the championship the robotic mouse has to navigate the fastest way to the a piece of virtual cheese at the centre of a maze.
Dr Wyeth's Cuqee III also won last year's championship sponsored by the Applied Power Electronic Conference.
