Event Description

Full Description:
The Society for Undergraduate Science Students invites you to the first 'Where Is Science Heading?' (WISH) symposium of the year.

Hear from the guest speaker of the evening - Prof Nick Martin, Senior Scientist from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research - whose research is based on large-scale twin studies. He will share his insights into the genetics of complex diseases, including addiction, depression, skin cancer, migraines, diabetes, osteoarthritis and asthma. His research helps to answer the stirring questions: How our genes contribute to complex diseases? How can we combat complex diseases through medicine? Be prepared to listen in, engage, ask questions, share your experiences, or voice your opinions about this topic. Even if you have nothing you want to say, you are still very welcome to attend.
Free catering will be provided after the symposium.
