Event Description
- Full Description:
- The talk will focus on Paul Caffyn's 1100 km journey along the SE coast of Greenland by kayak in 2008, including some history and video clips.
Paul has previously completed three journeys along the southwest (1000 km), west (1100 km), and east (700km) coasts of Greenland. These are just a few of his impressive achievements, which also include the circumnavigation of several countries by kayak (New Zealand, Britain, Japan, New Caledonia, Alaska). He was the first person to complete a solo paddle around Australia in 1982, and has authored several books about his experiences.
Schooled in Brisbane, Paul graduated with a Science degree (Geology and Botany) from the University of Queensland, before moving to New Zealand. The talk will include a little about his early paddling experiences on the Brisbane River.
