One of the greatest challenges for Great Barrier Reef managers is to understand the role played by coastal ecosystems in maintaining the health and resilience of the Great Barrier Reef. GBRMPA's work investigates the important functions of catchment, coastal and inshore marine ecosystems and the role they play in maintaining a healthy and resilient Great Barrier Reef.
