Full Description:: Join D’Arcy Randall, 2012 Fryer Library Award Winner, for a panel discussion focusing on histories of women’s writing at UQP. D’Arcy will explore this topic with fellow experts Sue Abbey, Deborah Jordan and Bronwen Levy.

D’Arcy Randall was Fiction Editor during the 1980s at the University of Queensland Press, where she worked with Thea Astley, Kate Grenville, Marion Halligan, Elizabeth Jolley, and Olga Masters. As Fryer Library Fellow for 2012, she is researching UQP history for a memoir and articles related to her career there.

Sue Abbey was UQP Poetry Editor from 1988- 2002; she also managed the Black Australian Writing list as well as books in Australian history, memoir and biography. She recently initiated the black&write! Writing and Editing Project to train Indigenous editors in partnership with the State Library.

Deborah Jordan is a historian and writer currently working with Ivor Indyk and David Carter on the book Halcyon days: Australian literary publishing, 1965-1995.

Bronwen Levy teaches and researches Australian women’s writing in the School of English, Media Studies, and Art History at The University of Queensland. Her involvement with publishing includes many years reading fiction manuscripts for the University of Queensland Press. She is on the editorial board of the feminist journal, Hecate.
