- Join us to hear Mr Andrew Winter, Residential Property Expert and Host of Selling Houses Australia as he reflects on “The Reality of Realty - What the Housing Industry has taught me since 1984”.
Starting his career in real estate at the age of 17, Andrew Winter sold his first home within a matter of months. From the Bristol based agency where he first began selling real estate, Andrew moved to a firm of Chartered Surveyors and worked hard to fine tune his house selling skills while learning about construction, structural issues, building faults and problems.
Andrew then spent a number of years working in The Cotswolds selling country cottages and derelict barns. In order to expand his career, he made the move to London and sold apartments and townhouses in the famous Baker Street, Oxford Street and Regents Park areas. For approximately 8 years, he was a partner in the exciting Canary Wharf area of London, involved with property investments, property management, sales and new developments.
Following this, Andrew spent a year as a Consultant for a newly created Estate Agency in Kent, overseeing business development, helping sellers to sell their homes and working with the staff and managers to build their brand.
His career took an interesting turn when he was chosen to present and research a new TV program about his favourite subject, “Selling Houses”. The UK program was in production for 6 years and the Australian version, Selling Houses Australia, is now in its fourth year of production.
He made the move to Australia in 2005 and established a boutique real estate agency but sold this in 2008 to focus on his family and burgeoning media career.
Andrew and Selling Houses Australia won in all categories they were nominated in for the 2010 ASTRA Awards including Most Outstanding Lifestyle Program, Most Outstanding Performance by a Presenter, Favourite Program and Favourite Personality. In 2011, Andrew was again awarded the publicly voted Favourite Male Personality and Selling Houses won the Favourite Australian Program.
