The School of Social Science would like to invite you to a public lecture sponsored by their Archaeology Program.

The presenter is Prof. Timothy Earle, who is Professor Emeritus Anthropology at Northwestern University, USA, an economic anthropologist who specialises in the archaeological studies of social inequality, leadership and political economy in early chiefdoms and states.

Prof. Earle has published a dozen books on this topic and the lecture 'How Chiefs Come to Power: A Political Economy Approach to Prehistory with Relevance to the Modern World' is one not to be missed.
