Event Description

Full Description:
Two in three Australians live in urban areas. How is this affecting our health? This panel discussion will bring together experts in the fields of public health policy, demography, and human geography.

The panel will look at how natural disasters, the design of cities and our urban lifestyles could be making us sick. Contemporary examples like urban flooding, avian flu, and the suburban obesity epidemic will be explored.

Conversely, could the design of our cities hold the key to improving our health?

There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and contribute to the debate. A reception will follow the formal discussion, providing an opportunity to meet with the panel and other guests.
