Event Description

Full Description:
‘Navigating the Ethical Landscape of Generative AI: Safeguarding Human Rights in the Digital Age’ is a thought-provoking event happening at The University of Queensland - Brisbane City.

Join the Australian Human Rights Commissioner, Ms Lorraine Finlay, and an expert panel to explore the intersection of generative AI and human rights.

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools like ChatGPT has regulators racing to govern the digital revolution while maximizing its benefits for humanity. AI promises excellent benefits but also potential and demonstrated risks, including erosion of privacy, amplifying bias and discrimination, manipulating human behaviour, including vulnerable groups, and undermining human rights. There is much work to be done so that the responsible development, deployment, and adoption of powerful new innovations contribute to a safer and more socially responsible future. This event brings together leading experts within the area of AI regulation and development to explore the challenges currently facing public, academic, industry, and government with regard to artificial intelligence and how these challenges can be met through a coordinated approach.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to engage with experts in the field and gain valuable insights into the future of AI ethics.

Light refreshments and networking will be served in the Atrium post-event.

*Please note: This event will be recorded *
