- Join us at our next BrisScience to hear about Dr Evelyne Deplazes' unusual career journey and her amazing work at The University of Queensland.
Her story is one of opportunities, determination, and resilience. Over more than two decades, Dr Deplazes dropped out of high school, became an apprentice car electrician, then completed her PhD in computational biophysics, dealing with mental health challenges along the way.
Dr Deplazes will also share insights into how supercomputers can help us study the molecular world and help us develop much-needed antibiotic or antifungal drug to treat life-threatening infections.
