- UQ Sustainability, the Centre of Marine Science, the Society for Conservation Biology UQ Brisbane Chapter, and UQ GEMS invite UQ students and staff to help us pick up rubbish along the river bank.
It's been shown that collecting plastic waste near coasts, rather than in the oceans, is the most effective way to reduce plastic pollution, so come along and lend a hand.
Bring a water bottle and gloves (we’ll provide these for anyone who can’t bring them). Closed shoes and sun protection are essential.
Meet on the corner of Sir William MacGregor Drive and Thynne Road, St Lucia campus.
Bring a water bottle, closed shoes and sun protection. Gloves can be provided for anyone who can't bring their own. We will also have cold water on hand.
This event is hosted by the UQ Sustainability Office, the Marine Society UQ, and UQ GEMs.
