Event Description

Full Description:
Please join us for a FREE IN-PERSON AND ONLINE WORKSHOP, that will provide an important opportunity to hear about future scenario planning as an innovative methodology for social science research and practice.

Future scenarios provide an innovative method to move beyond critiques of the current situation to envisage the kinds of futures we would like to create and can help us create a plan to get there. When combined with participatory methods, futures planning can also bring diverse stakeholders together in creative ways, opening up new spaces for dialogue to support deeper social/environmental change. In this seminar, Dr Kiah Smith will draw from her 'Fair Food Futures' research to show how participatory future scenarios have helped community groups generate shared visions of systems transformation, communicate these visions, and identify policy actions. 'We must imagine the future before we can create it'.

We will have ample time for questions and discussion, so please join our workshop and bring your questions along!
