Full Description:: UQ's Institute for Molecular Bioscience is proud to present an exclusive screening, Picture A Scientist, an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival that raises awareness of gender inequities in the sciences.

A biologist, a chemist and a geologist lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, overcoming brutal harassment, institutional discrimination, and years of subtle slights to revolutionize the culture of science. From cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we also encounter scientific luminaries who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equittable, and open to all.

An independent documentary that follows a groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists, by award-winning directors Ian Cheney (The City Dark, The Search for General Tso, The Most Unknown) and Sharon Shattuck (From This Day Forward, Animated Life series).
