Event Description

Full Description:
Everyone seems to agree that creativity has a crucial place in the future of the University and beyond. It’s one of the key skills that cannot be automated and it’s important for tackling the big challenges of global change, and for long-term employability. Using creativity as a teaching method challenges students to think differently whilst developing their higher order thinking skills. But what is creativity and how do we put it into practice? This interdisciplinary panel starts from the latest research into the ideal socio-material circumstances where creativity flourishes, then explores creativity’s value for innovation and entrepreneurial thinking; supporting human health and well-being; and for stimulating classroom experiences. Featuring speakers from creative writing, innovation management, medicine, social work and mathematical modelling, this panel will be a lively and wide-ranging discussion about one of the most valuable currencies in the emerging global order, and how it can engage and enrich our students.
