Event Description
- Full Description:
- Jane Milburn presents: 'The Process of Mending'
Many Australians do not know how to mend their clothes even if they know there are ethical reasons to do so. Mended garments carry a story of care. They reflect a triumph of imperfection over pretention, while the act of mending itself brings transformation in both mender and mended. Bring a few of your garments that need fixing and share ideas for visible mending, darning, patching and embellishing over and around holes, tears and blemishes. Equipment provided, but if you have needle, thread and scissors please bring them along.
Jane’s book 'Slow Clothing 'will also be available to purchase during the workshop.
