- Register and attend this workshop if you are interested in health, the Pacific, climate change, WASH, chronic diseases (NCDs), health systems and associated issues. The School of Public Health will host the event which will focus on Pacific health policy and governance in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals agenda. There are four interrelated themes: Health & Security; Health Systems and UHC; Climate Change & WASH and Chronic Disease/NCDs and their drivers.
Impactful keynotes and theme leaders, including Dr Colin Tukuitonga, Director of the Pacific Community, will participate. The workshop seeks to develop new platforms of research from facilitated discussions, broker new research partnerships and develop a basis for future work on Pacific Health and the SDGs.
After the keynotes on the four themes, breakout groups will map research needs and emerging themes, all by listening to regional voices. Facilitators will report back and draw conclusions on research needs and capacities at the conclusion of the day.
