- Full Description:
- MBRS’s Open Day aims to engage with the broader community to inform them about the research, culture, and natural environments found on their front doorstep. This free event provides participants with hands-on workshops, wildlife displays, cultural tours, and science demonstrations, all of which highlight the importance of the North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Bay.
The day will include the following:
- Welcome to country by Quandamooka elder
- Touch tank and fish displays
- Hands on science experiments with the UQ Science Troupe
- Free bay cruises with the MB Environmental Education Centre
- Cultural tour by Quandamooka man, Matt Burns
- Live animal show with Gecko Wildlife
- Lecture series from researchers working from MBRS
