- To celebrate International Museum Day 2015, please join curator Samantha Littley in a tour of 'Peter Hennessey: Making it real'.
The objective of International Museum Day is to raise awareness of the fact that, ‘Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.’ In 2014, more than 35,000 museums participated in the event in over 140 countries from all continents.
The theme for 2015 is ‘Museums for a sustainable society’ and aims to highlight the role of museums in raising public awareness about the need for a society that is less wasteful, more cooperative and that uses resources in a way that respects living systems.
