Event Description
- Full Description:
- The University of Queensland welcomes our new students and encourages you to take advantage of all that is offered through UQ’s vibrant and rewarding community of students and academic and professional staff.
The Welcome for New Students is an event for all commencing domestic and international students (including Study Abroad and Exchange Students), and includes information sessions and a variety of exhibition stalls. You will have the opportunity to chat to staff members from around the university and to meet some of our experienced Student Leaders who can answer any questions you might have about settling into life at UQ.
Exhibition stalls will be open from 9.30am – 12.30pm in the Schonell Theatre Foyer, and we invite you to stop by throughout the day to learn more about the services offered at UQ, to participate in some fun activities as well as sign up for others.
Getting Started sessions will be running throughout the day in the Schonell Theatre and will feature a special welcome from Senior University staff members. These sessions cover topics such as:
• Settling in – Getting to know Brisbane including maps, key locations etc
• How to enrol using mySI-net
• How and when to get Student ID cards
• Transport in Brisbane (and to campus) – how to get a Go Card, where to use it
