UQBUG's Inaugural public event - the 2007 NRTWD breakfast at UQ....
The ABC Broadcast provided a great attraction for all, with discussion over the radio waves creating some food for thought regarding riding to work as a sustainable alternative transport option.
A number of members were treated to fantastic prizes from both the ABC and the Uni Bike Shop, including a cycling jersey and multiple $50 gift vouchers. Discount vouchers for Clancy James Butcher were also well received by registered attendees.
Tatiana Grigorieva provided a refreshing celebrity appearance, as she talked about the advantages of cycling for bone fitness. Needless to say, many a photo opportunity was taken.
Other local celeb appearances included a number of local government councillors with representation from both major parties and a mayoral candidate all kitted up in their lycra. For those who channelled into the broadcast you would have been treated to interviews which included the Qld Transport minister who was across town opening a flash new bicycle facility, and interviews onsite with us included: one of our sporting scholarship holders, Bicycle Queensland staff. and of course Tatiana.
A big thankyou to our committee and volunteers for their hard work in the lead up and on the day. Also a big thanks to all of those who registered and joined us on the day. Finally, a big thankyou to our sponsors for the event...

Attendance: We had a great turn out with 110 (formally accounted for) cyclists attending, and participating in the ABC Local Radio Broadcast:
