Why study the Bachelors of Science/Arts?

This dual degree program provides students with a wide range of majors across science and arts. Students can structure their program within each degree component to include majors in their area of interest and a range of electives. For example, foreign language studies can be combined with an area of interest in science, providing employment opportunities with companies targeting foreign markets.

Program Rules and Requirements

To complete the Bachelors of Science/Arts

Students should be aware of the University of Queensland rules, particularly the General Award Rules, which govern the conduct of UQ programs. Students will find a link to the General Award Rules, and other University rules, on the University Rules page.

A student must complete #64 in total, including:

1. #32 from the BSc course list, comprising:

  • #6 from part A;
  • #14 from part B; and
  • #12 from part A or part B or a combination of both.
Students must undertake an approved major, extended major, or a dual major. Students must complete a minimum of #12 of late year courses.

AND

2. #32 from the BA course list, comprising:
  • 2 majors; or
  • an extended major; and the balance from courses in part A or part B or a combination of both; or
  • a major and 2 minors.
Students may elect to have the majors/extended major undertaken in the BA indicated on the degree certificate.
