Monitoring is an essential conservation tool that is widely used to identify, prioritize and survey species of concern. Effective conservation actions can only be made when the suitable information is available. However, resources for monitoring will always be limited. Therefore our research focuses on developing theories and tools that deliver cost-efficient monitoring, targeted at measuring appropriate indicators for making good decisions. Our research on optimal monitoring includes monitoring of threatened species, harvested species and invasive species.
