Our only Masters student Maren Dammann made headlines this week in the latest edition of UQ News. Maren, a native of Germany, is completing her coursework masters in the lab trying to find out what koalas like about 'green developments'.Maren is investigating their movement patterns and tree selection in Coomera Waters, a progressive 'Green' development on the Gold Coast. Maren's data will assess how effective the design of Coomera Waters has been for the retention of koalas, and be used in design of future urban development in areas where koalas are a prominent part of the biota.
