- Topic: Disease risk for UQ staff for travel and work including discussions on vaccine hesitancy in the aftermath of COVID-19.
Presenter: Emma Gale is a public health registrar whose experiences range from looking into systemic barriers to living healthy active lives with Health and Well-Being Queensland, through to communicable diseases including COVID-19 pandemic response.
James Harris is a public health registrar at the metro north public health unit working in notifiable conditions. He is also completing a PhD on antimicrobial resistance in Fiji.

Brief: James Harris and Emma Gale from the Queensland Public Health Unit will outline vaccines for UQ staff working in Australia and when travelling for work. They will provide recommendations for how to best prepare and protect yourself before travelling and provide some background on the diseases these vaccines prevent. Some ideas for promoting staff vaccination will be shared which will include discussion around approaching vaccine hesitancy, a resurgent issue in the aftermath of COVID-19.
