Guest speaker Dr Kirsty Short from SCMB.
Kirsty will be presenting SARS-CoV-2 pathogenesis: what do we know and what do we have to learn.

Kirsty Short’s Bio: Dr Kirsty Short is an ARC DECRA research fellow and head of the viral pathogenesis lab at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, The University of Queensland. Dr Short and her group focus on the pathogenesis of emerging viral infections and the role of chronic metabolic conditions (namely diabetes and obesity) in severe viral infections. Their group works on both influenza A virus and SARS-CoV-2 with a particular focus on the development of novel therapies and the role of children in viral transmission.
