Event Description

Full Description:
Introducing TERN’s Queensland SuperSites and using TERN flux tower and satellite-derived data to improve evapotranspiration and groundcover modelling.

Presenters: Assoc Prof Will Edwards, James Cook University and Jo Owens, University of Southern Queensland

In this seminar, Will introduces the SuperSites and their function and in particular, the science questions addressed at the Qld SuperSites at Robson Creek, Longreach, Samford and the potential new site in the Burdekin. Jo will explain her research into using TERN flux tower and satellite-derived data to improve evapotranspiration and groundcover modelling. Jo will also discuss how useful it will be to have access to carbon and water flux data from Queensland and how important the new flux tower site will be for future research to fill critical gaps.
