Event Description

Full Description:
Title: Effectively linking Australian Government with industry environmental monitoring using research infrastructure and research.

The webinar will explore the essential role collaborative research infrastructure plays in linking research institutions to all levels of government, industry and community in Australia and globally.

Professor Phinn's presentation and the following panel discussion will address how appropriate coordination and use of Australia’s collaborative research infrastructure enables translation of disparate, institutionally based, and often dysfunctional (publication driven) research, to support science-based procedures for state and national scale environmental monitoring and management by government, industry and non-government organisations.

Panellists:
Stuart Phinn, The University of Queensland Remote Sensing Research Centre/Joint Remote Sensing Research Program, SmartSAT CRC, Earth Observation Australia Inc. and Ozius Inc.

Peter Scarth, Joint Remote Sensing Research Program - Univ. of Queensland and Queensland Government, CiboLabs Inc., and Ozius Inc.
