Before the COVID-19 travel restrictions, business travel is quite common for our university employees. However, our research reveals that Australians in general were increasingly ignoring potential health risks when heading overseas. Many Australian travellers chose not to undertake proper protections to reduce travel risks. With the aim to enhance employees’ health and safety while travelling, this seminar will introduce various travel related risks, explain “why” and ‘why not’ tourists adopt protective behaviours against health risks, and provide recommendations on how to encourage travellers to protect themselves against risks.
