- Topic: A Workers’ Compensation Update
Presenter: Kate Thurbon
This presentation will inform staff of the latest changes to the legislation following the 5 year review of the scheme by independent reviewer Professor David Peetz from Griffith University, how these changes will impact the workplace and what the benefits are for our injured workers. Also covered will be what are the benefits of self-insurance, what are the common pitfalls of submitting a claim and how can they be overcome.
In addition, this seminar will also run through the process for lodging a claim, what the functions of WIM are in managing a claim together with the various timeframes that impact a claim.
