Event Description

Full Description:
Join us for two talks as part of the 2019 HMNS Seminar series.

'Getting people to participate in your research: Reflections and learning from ‘Truck-Fit’ recruitment' by A/Prof Nick Gilson from the UQ School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences. This presentation will review the strategies currently being used to recruit drivers into the ‘Truck-Fit’ program. Content will reflect on the practical and considerable challenges researchers face in ‘selling’ intervention study participation to hard-to-reach groups.

'Is it a ‘HIIT’? Is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) achievable and enjoyable for all patients with chronic disease?' by Dr Shelley Keating from the UQ School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences. Shelley will present findings from her current research study examining whether HIIT is safe, achievable and effective in patients with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, obesity and co-morbid type 2 diabetes.

No RSVP needed. All welcome
