Conference for HDR students committed to achieving sustainability in the resource industry. This free, one day conference provides students with the opportunity to showcase their research and network with academics and industry professionals.

The University of Queensland’s Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) is a world-leading* research institute committed to developing knowledge-based solutions to the sustainability challenges of the global resource industry, and to training the next generation of industry and community leaders.
The annual conference organised by SMI’s Higher Degree by Research students is set to be bigger than ever in 2019 with delegates attending from a number of international universities. This free, one day conference provides students with the opportunity to showcase their research and network with academics and industry professionals.

It is an opportunity to share ideas and meet students committed to achieving sustainability in the resource industry.

The conference will include:

Multiformat presentations including videos, oral presentations, interactive displays and posters
Talks from students working across mining, engineering, social sciences, environmental sciences, geology, ecology and more
Generous prizes awarded to the best presentations
Catered networking sessions
Industry panel discussion
