Event Description

Full Description:
By the year 2050, the human population is forecast to expand to nine billion people, requiring 50 per cent more fuel, 70 per cent more food and 50 per cent more fresh water. Sustaining life on earth in the face of increasing demand for resources, coupled with the challenges of climate change and rapid urbanisation, requires transformative and urgent solutions. How will we create a viable bio-economy using renewable resources? And can we weave integrated production systems for fuel, food and pharmaceuticals into the fabric of mega-cities? Will tiny green algae and sunlight provide the answer? We think they will.
