Event Description
- Full Description:
- From iconic images of the recent refugee crisis over new forms of digital activism to online terrorist propaganda, images pervade world politics. The past decade has seen a dramatic rise in the volume of scholarships about the significance of images in contemporary world politics. Yet, how to assess the political impact of images remains a significant theoretical and methodological challenge. This public roundtable brings together a number of scholars working on visual politics and the role of images in international relations to discuss how images matter in world politics.
