Event Description
- Full Description:
- Presented by the 2016 S.W. Brooks Fellow, Dr Alice Te Punga Somerville.
In this seminar, we will focus on literary and cultural studies, but will be positioned within a broader discussion of Indigenous Studies. Participants are invited to read three essays before the seminar, and to bring along one short text/art work/cultural object by an Indigenous creative practitioner.
After an introductory overview of key movements, methods and claims of Indigenous literary and cultural studies, these essays will give us a jumping off point for discussion.
Finally, we will engage with the texts brought along by participants.
Please RSVP by Monday, 18th April to b.smethills@uq.edu.au and the readings will be forwarded to you.
