Event Description

Full Description:
There are increasing expectations that publicly-funded research should have ‘impact’ beyond academia, and yield demonstrable and direct economic, policy, environmental and social benefits. These expectations, and an accompanying focus on encouraging research engagement and collaboration, underpin the ‘impact agenda’. The language of impact has become explicit in research funding applications and reporting mechanisms in the UK and Australia. But what is impact? What can we learn from the UK experience, and what are the potential implications for Australian universities and academics?
