Title: The Current State of Intuition Research and Possible Synergies with Neuroscience

Abstract:
The presentation will provide an overview of intuition research to date and explore areas for potential collaborative projects with brain researchers. It will outline the background of intuition studies, as a relatively recent addition to management sciences, and the contribution of various disciplines to today’s understanding of intuition and how to capture it through scientific means. It will present an intuition-focused view on several constructs of possible shared interest, such as attention, memory patterns and intention. Closer attention will be paid to the role of neuroscience, especially brain mapping (Lieberman, 2007) and the function of affect (Damasio, 1994, Bechara, 2004).
